Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for exams, relieves pre-testing anxiety by translating procedures into layman terms, and obtains consent forms if necessary.
- Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positions patients correctly, adjusts immobilization devices, operates equipment to obtain correct exposures, and monitors patient condition during procedures. Recognizes and reports any abnormalities to the Radiologist. Records patient history and other pertinent information.
- Processes and maintains images, labels films correctly, and ensures proper documentation and tracking of each examination.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the New York State Department of Health.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
