This role involves assessing patients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures following prescribed safety protocols. The position also includes serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Education

Required: Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.

Work Experience

Required: None. Preferred: Radiologic technology experience.

Certifications

Required: ARRT registration or eligibility, with registration completed within 90 days of employment, and a temporary state license. Current unrestricted license in the state of practice. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call, and ability to travel between facilities.
Job Duties
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care.
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Operate equipment independently to perform imaging procedures per protocol, including placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and contrast administration.
  • Review images for quality before transmission.
  • Perform quality control procedures and address issues as needed.
  • Assist with departmental operations such as inventory, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Adapt behavior to respect patient privacy and communicate effectively based on the patient population.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands
