Job Summary

This job involves assessing patients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. The role also includes serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.

Work Experience

  • Required: None
  • Preferred: Radiologic technology experience

Certifications

  • Required: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible, with registration within 90 days of employment, and a temporary state license.
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel between facilities.
Job Duties
  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
  • Use radiology information systems to facilitate care.
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Operate equipment independently to complete imaging procedures according to protocol.
  • Review images for quality before transmission.
  • Perform quality control procedures and address issues as needed.
  • Assist in departmental operations such as inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication styles.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
