Job summary

Qualifications

• Responsibilities include reviewing patient records and physician requests prior to radiographic procedures.
• Determines proper imaging settings and positions patients to obtain accurate x-ray images.
• Performs radiology procedures in accordance with department policies and safety standards.
• Operates radiology equipment and ensures radiation safety for patients and staff.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA and compliance policies.
• Documents procedures and enters data into the hospital information system and PACS.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient's medical record and physician’s request prior to radiographic procedure to obtain identifying information.
• Determines proper settings; selects and prepares equipment and supplies for each exam.
• Performs radiology procedures as ordered, ensuring patient safety and adherence to policy.
• Operates equipment and prepares contrast agents when needed, monitoring for allergies.
• Documents care and enters data; ensures accurate transmission to PACS.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in CPR/BLS/ACLS as required.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and compliance policies.
• Teaches and supervises new staff and students during patient care activities.
