Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is hiring a Radiologic Technologist II for the Plainfield, IL area. This part-time role involves operating radiology equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs under radiologist direction, and assisting physicians with image acquisition.

Expect rotating weekend nights 2200-0630 and rotating holidays, with 20 hours per week. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive hourly pay range of $29.68–$46.00, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• IEMA licensure or notice of compliance and authorization to perform medical radiation.
• Candidate for ARRT(R) certification within 2 years (Certificate of Program Completion or letter from program director).
• Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association.
• Preferred: prior x-ray experience in a hospital setting; knowledge of ACR/JCAHO requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
• Assist physicians and staff with obtaining images using PACS or HIS systems.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and promote trust; deliver customer service in all aspects of the job.

Hourly Pay Range

$29.68 - $46.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Location: 24600 W 127th Street, Plainfield, IL
• Part-Time, 20 hours weekly
• Hours: Rotating weekend nights 2200 - 0630, and rotating holidays

What you will do

Operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance with established protocols. Assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining images and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems. Explains procedure to patients, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of job.

What you will need

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate's degree, preferred
• IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure or "notice of IEMA compliance and authorization to perform medical radiation"
• At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) certification (i.e., Certificate of Program Completion or a letter from the Radiology Program Director of the accredited school.). Required within 2yrs of temporary license date.
• Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
• Preferred: Prior x‑ray experience in a hospital setting Knowledge of all current American College of Radiology (ACR)/JCAHO requirements to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations
