Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Radiologic Technologist II for night shifts at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role is part-time (16 hours/week) with evenings and weekends, including one holiday per year and on-call.

The technician will operate radiology equipment, perform radiographic exams, and ensure patient safety and comfort. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, an Associate's Degree (preferred), IEMA licensure, ARRT Radiography (R)

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of an Associate's Degree or higher, preferred.
• Licensure: IEMA licensure.
• Certifications: ARRT Radiography (R); BLS certification (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association, required.
• Experience: 1 year prior x-ray experience in a surgical environment; knowledge of current ACR/JCAHO requirements to maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiology equipment and perform radiographic examinations to provide films/images for diagnosis and treatment.
• Explain radiology procedures to patients and position them for safe examinations.
• Help establish trust with patients as part of the clinical team.

Hourly Pay Range

$31.46 - $48.76 – The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Sign‑on bonus: $1,000
• Position: Radiologic Technologist II – Nights
• Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL
• Part Time – 16 hours per week
• Hours: Every other Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 pm – 7:00 am. One holiday per year and on‑call schedule.

What you will do

The Radiologic Technologist II will operate radiology equipment and perform radiographic examinations to provide the clinical team with films, images, or other records to be used for diagnosis and/or treatment. The Radiologic Technologist II will explain radiology procedures to patients, position patients for safe examinations, and help establish the patient's trust in the clinical team.

What you will need

• Education: High School Diploma or GED. A minimum of an Associate's Degree or higher, preferred.
• License: IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure.
• Certifications: ARRT – Radiography (R); BLS certification (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association (AHA), required.
• Experience: 1 year prior x‑ray experience in a surgical environment, required. Knowledge of all current ACR/JCAHO requirements to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations.
