Position Overview

Performs routine and specialized radiology procedures to produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise procedures and accurate results. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers, and adheres to all safety and privacy regulations. May also assist in orienting staff and performing specific procedures.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

Certification & Licensure

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and evidence of application for CRT (may not begin work until verified)
• OR CRT (State Certified Radiologic Technologist)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire
• RHF (Radiology Fluoroscopy) within 180 days if required at the facility

Typical Experience

2 years recent relevant experience

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, views, and equipment; experience responding to emergencies
• Ability to perform routine radiographic exams and understand human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Strong communication skills for explaining sensitive information
• Time management and organizational skills
• Proficiency with computer applications and information systems (RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, PACS)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks amidst interruptions
• Problem-solving skills and ability to ensure patient privacy
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with healthcare providers
