Job summary

St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Radiologic Technologist II (CT Tech) to operate CT scanners and X-ray machines, producing high-quality cross-sectional images to aid diagnosis.

The role requires CT certification and a second modality certification or ARRT-R with willingness to learn CT, plus state licensure and BCLS. You will assist radiologists, maintain equipment, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, with a standard 8-hour daytime shift.

Qualifications

• CT certified and secondary modality certification required, or ARRT-R and willing to learn CT.
• Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program; JRCERT accreditation preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification; familiarity with state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and X-ray machines to obtain diagnostic images.
• Prepare patients and position them properly, explaining procedures with empathy.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Assist radiologists in interpreting images and administering contrast agents.
• Ensure quality assurance of CT/X-ray equipment and proper operation.
• Maintain radiologic supplies and follow infection control protocols.
• Follow all regulations and maintain equipment and hygiene standards.

Hours: 8-hour shifts - 8:30am to 5:00pm

Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist II, sometimes referred to as a Computer Tomography Tech or CT Tech. As the Radiology Technologist II you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient\'s internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.

Responsibilities

• ** To perform duties in this position you must be CT certified and certified in one other modality, or be ARRT-R (X-ray) and willing to learn CT. We are willing to train the right person looking to get into CT. **
• Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have
• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
• Monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
• Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
• Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images
• Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene

Qualifications

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
• Effective July 1, 2017appropriate national certifications in two modalities required
• Current BCLS (AHA)
• Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations
• One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferrred
• Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program required, JRCERT accreditation preferred
• Proficient computer skills
