Job summary

Tidelands Health is hiring Radiologic Technologist II in South Carolina. You will perform radiographic procedures with a focus on ALARA principles, patient safety, and accurate documentation.

The role requires ability to operate fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, and various imaging systems with proper exposure factors. The successful candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology and at least one year of experience, plus ARRT and SC licensure.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of one year Radiologic Technology experience.
  • Licensed: ARRT registered and SC RQSA compliant; BLS within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to perform various radiographic procedures and fluoroscopy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care by educating and preparing patients for procedures with effective communication.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Obtain and document patient medical history to assist radiologist.
  • Position patient with shielding and supportive devices as required.
  • Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as ordered.
  • Perform fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, and digital/mobile imaging as applicable.
  • Select proper exposure factors for each examination.
  • Complete exams in the hospital information system.
  • Clean and maintain imaging equipment.
  • Mentor and/or train students or new hires.

A Brief Overview

Radiologic Technologist perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.

What you will do
  • Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
  • Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
  • Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.
  • Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician’s order.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.
  • Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.
  • Completion of exam in hospital information system.
  • Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
  • May also assist with mentoring and/ou training students, new hires.
Education Qualifications

Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience

Preferred Skills and Abilities

Understand and utilize ALARA concepts and critical thinking Time management Effective communication.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Radiography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required
  • Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two year Required
