Job summary

Tidelands Health in Georgetown, SC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist II to join our radiology team for day shifts. You will perform radiographic procedures with high technical competency, ensure patient safety, and work within a busy hospital setting.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT radiography certification, SC standards, and BLS certification within 30 days. On-site patient care and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program required.
• Minimum of one year Radiologic Technology experience preferred.
• Understand ALARA concepts and demonstrate critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for procedures and communicating clearly.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
• Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologists.
• Position patient using shielding, immobilization, and support devices as required.
• Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Conduct fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, and digital/mobile imaging at applicable locations.
• Select appropriate exposure factors for each exam.
• Complete exams in hospital information system and maintain records.
• Maintain and clean imaging equipment; assist with mentoring students or new hires.

A Brief Overview

Radiologic Technologist perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.

What you will do

• Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
• Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist's interpretation.
• Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.
• Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician's order.
• Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.
• Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.
• Completion of exam in hospital information system.
• Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
• May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.

Education Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program Required

Experience Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Radiography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required
• Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two year Required
