Job summary

The University of Rochester UR Medicine Urgent Care is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to produce high quality X-ray images, verify orders, and follow department policies at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY. The role requires safe patient handling, accurate documentation, and adherence to imaging protocols.

Requirements include completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program, NY licensure, and ARRT certification with CE credits.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and patient per order, properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors in order to produce a high-quality image.
• Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam comments from the provider.
• Maintains appropriate supplies in the x-ray rooms.
• Produces a diagnostic, high quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Transfers patients to imaging tables using assistive devices.
• Maintains accurate patient records and ensures images are sent to PACS.
• Completes and bills for studies accurately.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
