Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, under the direction of a Radiologist and Imaging Manager. The role involves applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis and taking responsibility for designated areas as needed.

Graduates of an ARRT-accredited Radiography program, or those registered RT(ARRT) or eligible within one year of hire, are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist and the Imaging Manager, to perform radiological procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. To perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. To assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. May be assigned duties as an interim supervisor or instructor.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Radiography program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Currently registered as a Registered Technologist (R.T.(ARRT)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR registered within one (1) year from date of hire for a new graduate required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
