Job Summary

- Works closely with Director of Imaging and Radiologist to supervise and perform radiographic examinations. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department and ensures quality and continuity of patient care. This position is represented by RCHEA.

- Line of Authority: Radiology Technologist - Medical Imaging Services Director
Licenses and Certifications
- ARRT (R) required.
- BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines required (no other cards accepted).
- CRT license required.
- Fluoro permit required within 6 months of employment start date.
Education and Qualifications
- One to five years of experience as a staff technologist preferred.
- Able to maintain a positive professional manner in dealing with many individuals and situations often involving stressful or difficult circumstances.
- Able to organize and maintain good follow-up.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Employee must demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor.
- Potential exposure to blood & body fluids: Category 3.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists physician in administering opaque media.
- Assists with performing all department functions; clerical through technical, as needed.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service programs. Takes responsibility for ongoing continuing education.
- Instructs and trains ancillary personnel as necessary and assists with cross training of other x‑ray personnel.
- Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
- Maintains and troubleshoots lazar printing equipment and PACS.
- Maintains patient flow and coordination of other imaging procedures. Maintains records. Shows working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges and profiles.
- Maintains quality control for designated area and participates in hospital‑wide quality assurance program.
- Operates imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated areas of the body. Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis. Produces images under difficult or special conditions. Provides safe, age appropriate care.
- Participates in on‑call assignments and work schedule changes when necessary or per the needs of the department. Performs in a multi‑modality department with technical competence.
- Transports and positions patients. Provides radiation protection for self and patient.
- Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
