Radiologic Technologist, Full Time, Day Shift

Job Summary
- Non-exempt.
- Works closely with the Director of Imaging and Radiologist to supervise and perform radiographic examinations.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the department and ensures quality and continuity of patient care.
- Position represented by RCHEA.
Responsibilities
- Assists physician in administering opaque media.
- Assists with performing all department functions; clerical through technical, as needed.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service programs; responsible for ongoing continuing education.
- Instructs and trains ancillary personnel and assists with cross‑training of other X‑ray personnel.
- Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, licenses, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), and regulatory agencies.
- Maintains and troubleshoots laser printing equipment and PACS.
- Maintains patient flow and coordinates other imaging procedures; maintains records; demonstrates knowledge of patient orders, status changes, charges and profiles.
- Maintains quality control for the designated area and participates in hospital‑wide quality assurance program.
- Operates imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated body areas; selects proper technical factors per case; produces images under difficult or special conditions; provides safe, age‑appropriate care.
- Participates in on‑call assignments and work schedule changes when necessary.
- Performs in a multi‑modality department with technical competence.
- Transports and positions patients; provides radiation protection for self and patient.
- Performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
Qualifications
- One to five years of experience as a staff technologist preferred.
- ARRT (R) required.
- BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines required (no other cards accepted).
- Required CRT license; fluoro permit required within six months of employment start date.
- Positive professional manner in dealing with many individuals and situations often involving stressful or difficult circumstances.
- Good organizational and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions.
- Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- May occasionally pull, lift, transfer, or push a patient side to side, to a sitting position, to a standing position, or laterally; pull‑lift of 50 pounds from the floor demonstrated.
- Exposure to blood & body fluids categorized as Category 3.
- Equipment used: cell phone, usual radiology equipment.
- Confidentiality: Must conform with all HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.
