Job summary

Adventist Health in California seeks a Radiologic Technologist to supervise and perform radiographic examinations under the direction of the Director of Imaging and a Radiologist. The role contributes to department efficiency and patient care continuity, and is represented by RCHEA.

The candidate should have ARRT(R), BLS, CRT license, and fluoro permit within 6 months of start. One to five years of staff technologist experience is preferred, with strong communication and independent work skills

  • Maintains and meets expectations on time for licenses, certifications and education requirements as outlined by AH and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots equipment and PACS.
  • Maintains patient flow and coordination of imaging procedures; manages records.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Up to $20,000 hiring incentive and $5,000 relocation available for eligible rehires and external hires who meet the required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Job Summary

  • LINE OF AUTHORITY: Radiology Technologist - Medical Imaging Services Director
Licenses and Certifications
  • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: ARRT (R) required.
  • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines required (no other cards accepted).
  • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Required CRT license required, fluoro permit required within 6 months of employment start date.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (b): This job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will occasionally pull, lift, transfer, or push a patient side to side, to a sitting position, to a standing position, or laterally. The employee must demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor.
  • POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS: Category 3 for potential exposure to blood/body fluids. (Does not require the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and the assisting in cases of emergency medical care or first aid is not a requirement of employment. Tasks that involve handling of implements or utensils, use of the public or shared bathroom facilities, telephones, and personal contacts such as handshaking, are all considered Category 3 tasks.)

  • Attends staff meetings and in-service programs. Takes responsibility for ongoing continuing education.
  • Instructs and trains ancillary personnel as necessary and assists with cross training of other x-ray personnel.
  • Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots lazar printing equipment and PACS.
  • Maintains patient flow and coordination of other imaging procedures. Maintains records. Shows working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges and profiles.
  • Maintains quality control for designated area and participates in hospital-wide quality assurance program.
  • Operates imaging equipment to produce radiographs of designated areas of the body. Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis. Produces images under difficult or special conditions. Provides safe, age appropriate care.
  • Participates in On-Call assignments and work schedule changes when necessary or per the needs of the department. Performs in a multi-modality department with technical competence.
  • Transports and positions patients. Provides radiation protection for self and patient.
  • Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
