Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Overview:

UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, formerly known as The Villages Regional Hospital and acquired by University of Florida Health in January 2020, has been serving the residents of The Villages and patients from Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties since 2002. As part of UF Health Central Florida, we are dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, clinical training, and research programs. Responsibilities:

• Perform radiologic imaging services under the direction of the Manager, Supervisor, and in collaboration with radiologists.
• Respond to patient needs professionally, ensuring a positive patient experience while adhering to standards of quality care.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients, self, and healthcare team members by following safety protocols and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all relevant data is properly documented.
• Operate imaging equipment in accordance with established protocols to obtain the highest quality images.
• Provide support to colleagues and associates to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and safety standards for radiologic procedures.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program or equivalent post-high school special training in Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• State of Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist License (required).
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification (required).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (required).

Special Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in using radiologic imaging equipment and technology.
• Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and the ability to apply them consistently.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred, but not required.
