Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Georgia is seeking a radiologic technologist to perform radiographic procedures in a timely manner, review films for quality and positioning, and explain exams to patients.

The role requires ARRT eligibility, a high school diploma, BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and at least two years of preferred experience; you will ensure safety, operate PACS/CR, and mentor radiology students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT program; BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Follows radiation safety practices and uses appropriate shielding and dosimeter monitoring.
• Positions patients, provides immobilization devices and selects proper factors for quality imaging; explains exams and uses markers.
• Operates radiographic CR/DR equipment and PACS; ensures equipment is in good working order.
• Reviews orders, completes exam in EMR and PACS for dictation.
• Provides imaging on CD when requested and imports CD into PACS.
• Acts as liaison between ordering providers and radiologists; assists with radiology questions.
• Orders x-ray supplies and maintains PPE; conducts lead apron checks bi-annually.
• Precepts radiology students and new staff; reports adverse events as needed.
