Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited ARRT program.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follows good radiation safety practices per state and federal guidelines.
• Positions patients, uses immobilization devices, and selects proper technical factors to obtain quality images.
• Operates radiographic CR, DR, and PACS systems.
• Ensures imaging equipment is in good condition and reports malfunctions or calibrations.
• Reviews patient orders and completes exams in EMR and PACS; documents results.
• Provides patient imaging on CDs when requested and imports CDs into PACS.
• Serves as liaison between ordering providers and radiologists; assists with questions.
• Orders x-ray supplies and maintains PPE with lead apron checks.
• Complies with drills, CPR, licensure renewal, CEUs and related requirements.
• Serves as preceptor to radiology students and staff; notifies appropriate personnel of adverse events.
