Mercyhealth seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm and fluoroscopic procedures while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging. The role requires operating imaging equipment, assisting radiologists, and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

The position involves 4x10-hour shifts (Sunday-Wednesday) from 10am to 8pm, with a competitive pay range and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • 1–3 years experience preferred; new graduates considered.
  • ARRT Radiography registration is expected.
  • CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Reviews patient history to ensure appropriate orders and labs are within range.
  • Provides patient education and comfort.
  • Operates imaging equipment and accessories to perform procedures.
  • Positions patient to best demonstrate the area of interest while ensuring safety.
  • Initiates basic life support when necessary.
  • Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
  • Follows ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
  • Documents XR safety incidents per protocol.
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.

OVERVIEW

Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality imaging. Operates imaging equipment, assists radiologists with procedures, processes images, and maintains accurate patient records and documentation.

SCHEDULE

Sunday - Wednesday

SHIFT

10am-8pm, four 10-hour shifts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Reviews patients’ clinical history ensuring that appropriate order placed and labs are within range as needed- reviewing with radiologist as necessary
  • Provides patient education.
  • Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Initiates basic life support when necessary.
  • Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
  • Follows ALARA principles through accurate exposure factors and radiographic techniques.
  • Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
  • Reports and documents XR safety incidents/ adverse events per protocol.
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
  • Uses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.
  • Assist with medical record/image sharing as necessary.
  • Documents all information pertinent to XR/FL procedure in electronic medical record to include medication reconciliation.
  • Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners.
  • Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
  • Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient’s bedside.
  • Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special xray examinations.
  • Prepares contrast media and assists in administration.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • One (1) to Three (3) years experience preferred.
  • Will consider new graduates.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
  • ARRT Radiography registration required.
  • IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois.
  • WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION
  • Works independently with limited direct supervision.
  • SUPERVISES Provides clinical supervision of allied health students and radiology aides.
PAY RANGE

$27.17 - $40.75
