Job summary

Ochsner Health in Covington, LA seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with safety and quality in mind. You will operate radiology equipment, explain procedures to patients, and support a team of clinicians in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
ARRT registry eligibility or ARRT registration within 90 days of employment and temporary state license may be required.
Current unrestricted license in the state of practice and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
Use radiology information systems to facilitate care.
Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
Independently operate imaging equipment per protocol (may include NG tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, contrast).
Review patient images for diagnostic quality.
Perform quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
Assist in departmental operations (inventory, staffing, equipment maintenance).
Adapt responsibilities to patient populations with respect for privacy and communication style.
Perform other duties as required.
