Job Overview

Radiologic Technologist (Clinic) – responsible for providing diagnostic images within the clinic environment. Depending on the clinic, may also perform phlebotomy and patient registration.

Department & Hours

Department: X‑Ray Clinic

Hours: PRN – As needed

Not benefit eligible.

Compensation

Estimated compensation range: $25.08 – $38.87 per hour, based on experience. Pay starts at $25.08.

Responsibilities

• Accurately uses image identification and documents consents, orders, and screening forms in patient records.
• Determines the body portion to be imaged and properly positions the patient.
• Follows policy and protocol as outlined in protocol guides and hospital policy.
• Maintains equipment with routine cleaning and operation checks.
• Obtains and records patient history, vital signs, symptoms or complaints before the physician exam and assists with exams/procedures as requested.
• Performs miscellaneous office duties such as answering the phone, scheduling patients, and cleaning exam rooms between patients.
• Performs phlebotomy work as ordered by providers.
• Processes images to the PACS system.
• Selects proper techniques and accessories for the appropriate exposures.
• Uses ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure to staff and patients.
• Utilizes the Hospital Information System (HIS) to obtain patient information, verify orders, complete charges, and process studies.
• Employs proper safety techniques, performs general radiology exams, and delivers excellent quality imaging.
