Responsibilities:

• Performs and completes radiographic studies as requested to assist physicians in diagnosis of injury or pathology.
  
• Incorporates knowledge of technical functions to provide optional studies while protecting the patient and self from excessive radiation exposure.
  
• Administers oral and IV contrast media as needed.
• Performs radiographic procedures in a competent and knowledgeable manner
• Administers contrast media as required for certain exams with approval of a physician
• Assists physicians in performance of non-typical examinations
• Maintains a safe and orderly environment for self, other personnel and patients
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
• Assists in the education of students as required

Qualifications

Minimum Education Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology Required Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to lift and move heavy objects and cope with acutely ill patients. Must be able to take call on a rotating basis.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days

Licenses: ARRT registered with WV licensure.
