Qualifications

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and obtain registry within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and protocols.
• Ensures diagnostic images are obtained accurately and efficiently for physician interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents under supervision of a physician.
• Verifies patient identification, orders, and clinical information prior to procedures.
• Positions patients and operates radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and completeness; obtains additional images when necessary.
• Follows radiation safety standards and departmental/regulatory requirements.
• Documents examinations and patient information in electronic systems.
• Maintains equipment and work areas per department standards and infection control.
