Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist position. Work across 16 community hospitals, including 3 level‑1 trauma centers, using state‑of‑the‑art imaging systems to support diagnosis and treatment planning in South Carolina.

Position details include 36 hours weekly, Sat-Mon days, and competitive compensation with a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $5,000 relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT registration within 6 months of hire or current.
• SC Radiation Quality Standards Association licensure required.
• Current BLS required (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Performs high‑quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Ensures diagnostic images are obtained accurately and efficiently for physician interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed and under physician supervision.
• Verifies patient identification, examination orders, and relevant clinical information prior to procedures.
• Positions patients appropriately and operates radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and completeness and obtains additional images when necessary.
• Follows radiation safety practices and applicable departmental and regulatory standards.
• Documents examinations and patient information accurately in the appropriate electronic systems.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in accordance with department standards and infection prevention protocols.
