Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality radiographic examinations under a Radiologist's direction. You will handle general, special procedures, OR cases, and portable exams, while delivering direct patient care and education.

Prepare contrast media and maintain equipment per policy while ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance. The role requires NY DOH licensure, ARRT registration, and BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

  • The candidate is a graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Must hold New York State Department of Health Licensure.
  • Registered with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
  • BLS certification due within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to perform general radiology, special procedures, OR cases, and portable exams.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, radiographic techniques, ALARA, collimation, and shielding.
  • Ability to perform equipment QA/QC and follow infection-control and radiation-safety procedures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, lift 20–50 lbs, push/pull medical equipment, and assist with patient positioning.
  • Ability to complete annual Healthstream programs and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality radiographic examinations as directed by the Radiologist.
  • Perform general radiology procedures, special procedures, OR cases, and portable exams.
  • Provide direct patient care, including positioning, preparation, education, identification verification, and addressing concerns
  • Prepare contrast media for examinations as needed
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and safety per policies
  • Perform daily equipment QA/QC and report mechanical or system errors
  • Wear and submit radiation film badges for monitoring
  • Assist peers and patients with transporting, transferring, and standing
  • Attend staff and modality meetings and suggest quality and productivity improvements
  • Complete routine and urgent exams within departmental time frames with minimal supervision
  • Complete annual Healthstream programs and report compliance issues through the chain of command
