Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to deliver X-ray imaging across patient ages in an urgent care setting. You will perform and interpret radiographic exams under a clinical provider, while maintaining strict radiation safety and ALARA standards.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT registration and state licensure where required, with clinical experience and commitment to patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT registration required at time of hire.
  • BLS certification at hire time (ARC or AHA).
  • State licensure as Radiologic Technologist required where applicable.
  • Clinical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver imaging services using X-ray technology for patients of all ages.
  • Perform X-ray procedures and report results to medical providers.
  • Position patients and equipment while ensuring radiation safety.
  • Prepare patients, verify information, and record medical history.
  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and communicate findings to radiologists.
  • Maintain medical records, scan charts, and conduct courtesy follow-up calls.
  • Follow ALARA principles and radiation safety protocols.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot X-ray equipment; conduct quality assurance tasks.

Job description

  • Collaborate with medical providers and medical assistants on patient care, organization, and communication
  • Deliver imaging services using X-ray technology for patients of all ages
  • Perform Medical Assistant duties under a provider after training
  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to medical providers
  • Provide administrative support for efficient urgent care center operations
  • Perform X-ray services under clinical provider direction to assist diagnosis or treatment
  • Position patients and equipment correctly while ensuring radiation protection
  • Prepare patients, verify information, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose
  • Perform preliminary physical tests and escalate critical cases to providers
  • Conduct point-of-care testing, including flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG testing
  • Maintain medical records, scan charts, and conduct courtesy follow-up calls
  • Perform and document equipment controls, calibration, quality assurance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair tickets
  • Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and answer questions
  • Select radiographic factors and controls to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Clean and maintain X-ray equipment and manage supplies
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
  • Verify image quality and send images to radiologists for interpretation
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at the time of hire, if applicable by state law
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards common to radiology
  • Ability to position patients properly for X-ray procedures
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them or notify a supervisor
  • Ability to follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
