Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina is seeking Radiologic Technologists to perform routine radiology procedures, acquire diagnostic images, and assist radiologists with complex examinations. This role supports patient care through image quality assessment and adherence to regulatory standards.

Candidates should have an associate degree in Radiologic Sciences, ARRT eligibility or registration within one year, and BLS certification.

  • Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
  • Registry/Certification: ARRT or registry-eligible and registered within 1 year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Prepares for and assists the radiologist in completion of intricate radiographic procedures including contrast media administration.
  • Performs patient assessments and provides patient care.

Salary Range: $26.85 - $41.50 per hour (Hiring Range). Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.

Hours: Per Diem, Part-time, and Full-time available.

Summary:

Conducts routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data. Prepares for and assists the radiologist in completion of intricate radiographic procedures including preparation and administration of contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Performs patient assessments and provides patient care. Evaluates the appropriateness of examination and assesses the quality of radiographic images.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. If degree is not yet complete, candidates may be selected contingent on completing a degree program within 90 days of hire.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. (Registry eligible candidates must provide a copy of diploma from accredited program.) Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • Radiologic Technologist I: No prior experience required.
  • Radiologic Technologist II: Two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Meet the requirements outlined in the Radiologic Technologist II Competency Checklist and maintain Technologist II additional duty/duties annually.
