Job summary

The Radiologic Technologist at Paycom - ATS is responsible for providing patient care and operating diagnostic radiographic equipment across multiple imaging modalities. This role supports diagnostic evaluation in a hospital setting and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in Radiology, ARRT registration, and a valid RT(R) license with additional subspecialty credentials. On-site work with variable shifts, training, and teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in radiology or graduate from an accredited program.
  • ARRT registered and valid radiologic certifications.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to start and discontinue IVs when indicated.

Responsibilities

  • Operates radiology equipment for image production across modalities.
  • Prepares patients for exams and schedules preps as needed.
  • Prepares films for radiologist interpretation and reviews as required.
  • Practices safety measures for patient and technologist.
  • Instructs students in the clinical setting.
  • Maneuvers in EMR/PACS, marks images, and uploads outside imaging.

Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for providing patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment, for diagnostic evaluation purposes, in varying modalities of Radiology.SHIFT DAYS/HOURS:Varies. Subject to change based on business necessity.INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Supervision Received: Radiology ManagerSupervision Exercised: NoneOther: Patients, families, visitors, other hospital personnel, medical staff, other medical facility personnel,community program personnel, mortuary personnel, EMS personnel, members of the general public.EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS:To reduce job hazards, this position is responsible for wearing PPE during job functions. PPE can include: gloves, gown/coat, shoe covers, head/face, eye and ear protection. Each job function requires a different level of PPE, individuals receive initial and annual training to identify the appropriate level of PPE requiredExposed to radiation and high-field magnetic strength; so practice any safety measures available including time, distance, shielding and a thorough screening of the patient.EQUIPMENT USED:General Radiology, Dexa, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI and Mammography equipmentESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Operates computer and various Radiology modalities, and equipment for image production.2. Prepares patients for exam (to include scheduling and preps).3. Prepares films for radiologist interpretation.4. Practices safety measure for patient and technologist.5. Instructs student in clinical setting.6. Responds to pager system.7. Interviews patients, provides proper instruction to patients, obtains a thorough screening and history of every patient and provides education for post-procedure when needed.8. Properly performs all exams that are required and reviews outside films and reports when needed.9. Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs of radiology equipment.10. Assures that rooms are equipped with necessary supplies and linens.11. Adheres to internal controls established for department.12. Able to start and discontinue IVs for contrast administration when indicated.13. Properly maneuvers in the EMR and in PACS; marks images for radiologist to read, uploads outside imaging, etc.14. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Associates degree or radiological graduate from an accredited program. ARRT registered.Experience: One year experience preferred.Certificates, License, Registrations: ARRT; RT(R) Additional Licenses- RT(R)(M), RT(R)(CT), RT(R)(MR)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General anatomy knowledge and the ability to multi-task. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.Physical: Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
