Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington state is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to produce diagnostic images and support radiologists in diagnosing and managing patient conditions.

You will perform X-rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRIs, apply radiation safety, position patients, and ensure quality images while delivering compassionate patient care across all ages.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
• One year of related work experience or equivalent training.
• Licensed/registered as Radiologic Technologist (WA) and ARRT certification upon hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Prepares/operates radiology equipment for the correct size, depth and detail of a requested exposure area, based on physicians’ orders and in adherence to department protocols.


• Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions.


• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to comfort and protect the patient, self and others from unnecessary radiation.


• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to ensure that results are consistent.


• Cleans equipment after each use.


• Delivers patient care for all age groups while performing radiological exams/procedures and/or special procedures.
