Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a day shift (8a-4:30p) with call on weekends and some weeknights. The role involves preparing and assisting with radiologic exams, managing contrast media, and serving as the patient liaison with the medical team.

You must have graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, be ARRT certified or eligible, and obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire. BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT R.T. (R) or registry eligible.
• Must be registry eligible and obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date.
• 1 year post-graduate experience strongly preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care for patient populations in the department.
• Assess data reflecting patient age-specific needs across the life span.
• Assess patients/families' ability to learn and incorporate teaching.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting patient rights and dignity.
• Demonstrate knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures in the department.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Radiologic Technologist must: demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology and maintain a high degree of accuracy in Radiologic positioning and exposure techniques. He/she must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety. The Radiologic Technologists prepare for and assist the physician in the completion of intricate Radiologic examinations. They prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal and hospital regulations. The Radiologic Technologists are the primary liaison between patients and departmental physicians and other members of the support team. They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.

• You willdemonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs

• You will assess patients/families' ability to learn and incorporate teaching

• You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients

• You willdemonstrate knowledge of equipment and procedures for radiological dept.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic Technology.

• ARRT R.T. (R)(denotes successful completion of the ARRT certification examination) or registry eligible.

• Must be registry eligible and obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date, if not obtained termination will occur.

• 1 yearpost-graduate experience strongly preferred.

• American Heart Association BLS certificationrequired.
