Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with a focus on patient-centered care. You will operate imaging equipment, ensure image quality, and collaborate with Orthopedics and other services in a fully digital, teaching facility.

The role requires ARRT eligibility/registration, ND MIRT licensure where applicable, and a commitment to radiation safety. The position offers rotating shifts, strong teamwork, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an educational program accepted by the ARRT is required.
  • Registration with ARRT is required.
  • ND MIRT licensure if working in North Dakota is required.
  • CNA certification may be required in some clinics within first eight weeks.
  • BLS certification within six weeks of employment and recertification as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiology procedures producing quality diagnostic images.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning and adherence to provider requests.
  • Maintain radiation safety guidelines and protection practices.
  • Deliver excellent patient care and education before, during, and after procedures.
  • Navigate the EMR system effectively and support additional duties as assigned.
  • May perform mobile imaging, EKG, cardiac monitor placement, and DEXA procedures as needed.
  • Support Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Services with related testing and administrative tasks.

You’ll support Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Pain Management procedures, and our Walk-In Clinic. No Upper GI, Esophagram, BE, or video swallow exams at this site. We’re a fully digital, teaching facility that values teamwork, professional growth, and mentoring students, with opportunities to cross-train to our on-site Orthopedic clinic.

What You’ll Work With:

  • OEC, Philips & Siemens C-arms + mini C-arms
Schedule:
  • Full-time, rotating shifts (latest: 12 PM–8:30 PM)
  • Days, evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Call: 2–3 nights/month + every 4th weekend

Summary Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. Operates equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines; ensures the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes.

Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures; conducts image operations according to provider requests and other technical factors.

Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process.

Delivers excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Sanford Rural Health Network Facility sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Occupational Medicine clinics may have expanded job duties based on facility needs including preforming routing testing, and sampling and other technical services to support Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Services, including but not limited to, drug screens, breath alcohol testing and audiograms as well as administrative and/or clinical support.

Qualifications Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection is required. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required. If working in South Dakota, candidates must obtain their ARRT certification within 60 days of hire. In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa If working at some clinic locations, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire into the position. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required. Driver's license may be required, dependent upon department.
