Job summary

Euola is seeking Radiologic Technicians to provide diagnostic radiologic services at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia.

The Radiologic Technician will deliver routine radiology services in a federal correctional setting, working with healthcare professionals and inmates. This onsite role requires successful completion of applicable federal background, credentialing, and facility-access requirements.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a diagnostic radiologic technology training program of at least 24 months.
  • Certificate or Associate Degree from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification (R).
  • Current license/registration as radiologic technologist in a U.S. state or territory.
  • Current CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
  • Ability to complete federal background investigation and security requirements.
  • Ability to stand/walk/bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a federal correctional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine diagnostic radiologic examinations as ordered by healthcare providers.
  • Position patients for radiographic procedures.
  • Determine exposure levels while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Operate standard diagnostic radiographic equipment.
  • Follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients and help reduce anxiety.
  • Document radiologic results in the EMR.
  • Maintain radiology records and assist with audits.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report faults.
  • Support training related to obtaining x-rays as needed.
  • Utilize facility-specific computer programs and systems.

Radiologic Technician

Position Overview

Euola is seeking Radiologic Technicians to provide diagnostic radiologic services at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia.


The Radiologic Technician will provide routine diagnostic radiology services in support of the facility's Health Services Department and will work directly with healthcare professionals and the patient population within a federal correctional setting.


This is an onsite position requiring candidates to successfully complete applicable federal background, security, credentialing, and facility-access requirements.


Responsibilities


  • Perform routine diagnostic radiologic examinations as ordered by authorized healthcare providers.

  • Properly position patients for radiographic procedures.

  • Determine appropriate radiation exposure levels while minimizing unnecessary patient radiation exposure.

  • Operate standard diagnostic radiographic equipment.

  • Follow applicable infection-control and patient-safety procedures.

  • Explain procedures to patients and assist in reducing patient anxiety.

  • Process and document radiologic results in the electronic medical record.

  • Maintain required physical and electronic radiology records.

  • Assist with quality assurance activities and medical-record audits.

  • Clean and maintain radiographic equipment in accordance with established procedures.

  • Perform minor equipment troubleshooting and report defective equipment.

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate supplies within assigned clinical areas.

  • Follow security requirements regarding the storage of instruments, equipment, and supplies.

  • Serve as a technical resource to clinicians and other clinical personnel regarding radiologic procedures.

  • Assist clinical staff with training related to obtaining x-rays when required.

  • Perform related administrative and clerical duties.

  • Utilize facility-specific computer programs and electronic systems.

  • Comply with Federal Bureau of Prisons Health Services policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, security requirements, and institutional rules.


Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:



  • Completion of a diagnostic radiologic technology training program of at least 24 months, or equivalent.

  • Certificate or Associate Degree from a diagnostic radiologic technology program accredited by JRCERT or another Department of Education-recognized accrediting organization.

  • Current certification in Radiography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT (R).

  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted radiologic technologist license or registration issued by a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  • Ability to successfully complete federal background investigation, credentialing, and facility security requirements.

  • Ability to perform work requiring frequent walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Ability to work professionally and safely within a federal correctional environment.


Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:



  • Previous healthcare experience in a correctional environment.

  • Advanced ARRT certifications.

  • Additional relevant professional certifications or continuing education.

  • Experience working with electronic medical records.

  • Experience with GE Medical Systems, Kodak, or similar diagnostic radiographic equipment.


Schedule

The normal work schedule will consist of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.


Schedules may consist of:



  • Five 8-hour workdays; or

  • Four 10-hour workdays


Normal working hours will fall between approximately 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Federal holidays are generally excluded from the work schedule. Actual scheduled may be adjusted based on the operational needs of the facility.
