Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing all aspects of general, neuro, and interventional radiography and computed tomography studies in an emergency room setting, with little or no supervision. Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed, and performs a variety of tasks that require a high degree of skill and autonomy, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Performs laboratory functions and frequently assists with various laboratory tests, IV starts, splinting, and vitals.

• Perform diagnostic procedures such as computed axial tomography, magnetic resonance, interventional radiology, mammography, sonography, ultrasound, and/or nuclear medicine and PET.
• Ensure thorough and accurate imaging techniques for patient positioning according to the imaging order.
• Routinely apply sterile techniques and safety practices for patients, teammates, and yourself.
• Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment to prevent failures, demonstrating mechanical aptitude and confidence.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• One (1) year of current experience performing CT and Radiographic procedures in an emergency room setting.
• Graduate of a 2-year accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• STATE: Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CT CRT) and CTCT: Certified Technologist/Computed Tomography (LIC CT).
• NATIONAL: Must also hold and maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT ARRT).
• American Heart Association-issued Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS).

Preferred:

• Level 1 or 2 trauma center ER experience.
