Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing all aspects of general, neuro, and interventional radiography and computed tomography studies in an emergency room setting, with little or no supervision. Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed, and performs a variety of tasks that require a high degree of skill and autonomy, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Performs laboratory functions and frequently assists with laboratory tests, IV starts, splinting, and vital signs.

• Perform diagnostic procedures such as computed axial tomography, magnetic resonance, interventional radiology, mammography, sonography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and PET.
• Ensure thorough and accurate imaging techniques for patient positioning according to the imaging order.
• Apply sterile techniques and quality safety practices for patients, teammates, and yourself.
• Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment to prevent failures, demonstrating mechanical aptitude and confidence.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• At least one (1) year of current experience performing CT and radiographic procedures in an emergency room setting.
• Graduate of a 2-year accredited Radiology Technology program.
• STATE: Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT: Certified Radiologic Technologist and CTCT: Certified Technologist/Computed Tomography.
• NATIONAL: Must hold and maintain ARRT certification in CT.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR BLS).

Preferred:

• Experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center ER setting.
