Cape Fox Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for a Radiographic Technologist - Orthopedic to provide a full range of imaging services at the Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

The RT will perform specialized radiographic procedures, support contrast media administration, conduct patient screening, ensure proper patient positioning, and uphold quality and safety standards within the Radiology Department.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
• At least four years of experience independently operating x-ray equipment.
• Experience with orthopedic trauma surgical cases is required.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ARRT registration.

Responsibilities

• Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Position patients and adjust facilities to optimize image quality while protecting patient safety.

Cape Fox Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for aRadiographic Technologist - Orthopedic. This position provides a full range of radiographic imaging services in support of the Defense Health Agency Medical Q-Coded Support and Services, Next Generation task order at the Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The RT will perform special radiographic procedures, support contrast media administration, conduct patient screening, ensure proper patient positioning, and maintain quality and safety standards within the Radiology Department.

The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $53.09. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $48.00 plus $5.09per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. The above rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. The Radiographic Technologist (Orthopedic) shall perform services in accordance with applicable contract requirements, Military Treatment Facility policies, radiology department standards, clinical competency requirements, and professional standards of practice. The position requires completion of an accredited radiologic technologist course, at least four years of experience independently operating x-ray equipment, producing and processing radiographs, and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures. Must have two years experience working in orthopedic trauma surgical cases. Basic Life Support certification, and current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities

• Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce routine diagnostic medical images. Computes techniques and adjusts control panel settings such as kilovoltage, milliamperage, exposure time, and focal spot size.
• Positions patient to image desired anatomic structures. Selects image recording media, adjusts patient positioning table and image receptor, aligns x-ray tube for correct distance and angle, and restricts radiation beam for maximum patient protection. Exposes and processes images.
• Selects imaging protocols and required accessories and makes adjustments based on the specific examination requirements. Records and processes the image. Manipulates the recorded image using computer applications
• Assists physicians with fluoroscopic, c-arm, interventional, and special examinations. Instructs patients preparing for procedures. Prepares and assists with contrast media administration. Maintains emergency response cart. Assists physician in treating reactions to contrast material. Prepares sterile supplies and equipment.
• Operates accessory equipment as directed.
• Operates radiographic equipment in sterile environments, such as surgical radiographic and fluoroscopic support.
• Performs general diagnostic imaging activities. Cleans and inspects equipment. Receives patients, schedules appointments, prepares and processes examination requests and related records, and files images and reports. Enters and maintains data in radiology information systems and electronic health systems.
• Reviews images to ensure quality standards are met.
• Provides primary O-Arm and C-Arm imaging support for all ortho/spine surgical cases.
• Performs general diagnostic imaging activities. Cleans and inspects equipment. Receives patients, schedules appointments, prepares and processes examination requests and related records, and files images and reports. Enters and maintains data in radiology information systems and electronic health systems.
• Performs equipment quality control checks. Monitors personnel to ensure protective procedures such as radiation safety, hazardous material communications, and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health programs are followed. Performs tests on radiation protection equipment. Trains and assesses staff and student competence, monitors appropriateness of care and completeness of examination requests.
• Performs Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) and operates associated equipment.
• Performs various administrative duties such as uploading, faxing, and scanning patient documentation utilizing electronic health care systems.
• Performs quality control duties such as arriving, departing, and transcribing orders. Operates image viewing system and manipulates studies as required
• Maintain required licensure, registration, certification, competency documentation, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
• Comply with applicable Military Treatment Facility policies, Radiology Department standards, DHA requirements, HIPAA requirements, local procedures, safety requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Notify the appropriate Government supervisor and company leadership of any inability to perform scheduled duties as required.

Work Schedule

The RT (Ortho) shall perform services in accordance with the schedule established by the Government supervisor and applicable contract requirements. The work schedule may include 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts based on mission needs, and Radiology Department operations. Scheduled work shall not exceed 40 scheduled hours per week unless otherwise authorized in accordance with contract requirements. On-call is required. Weekend, holiday, or alternate shift requirements may apply if directed and authorized under the contract and local Radiology Department requirements.
