Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking a Radiographic Technologist (Pain Management) to deliver radiographic imaging services at the Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center, Nellis AFB, NV. The role includes fluoroscopy, contrast media handling, and patient screening, under DHA requirements.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited radiologic technologist program, ARRT registration, and at least two years’ experience with x-ray equipment and interventional procedures.

Job description

Cape Fox Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for aRadiographic Technologist - Pain Management. This position provides a full range of radiographic imaging services in support of the Defense Health Agency Medical Q-Coded Support and Services, Next Generation task order at the Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The RT will perform special radiographic procedures, support contrast media administration, conduct patient screening, ensure proper patient positioning, and maintain quality and safety standards within the Radiology Department.

The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $51.97. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $46.88 plus $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. The above rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. The Radiographic Technologist (Pain Management) shall perform services in accordance with applicable contract requirements, Military Treatment Facility policies, radiology department standards, clinical competency requirements, and professional standards of practice. The position requires completion of an accredited radiologic technologist course, at least two years of experience independently operating x-ray equipment, producing and processing radiographs, and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures. Must have at least 6 months experience working in interventional pain management OR spine surgery. Basic Life Support certification, and current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities

• Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce routine diagnostic medical images. Computes techniques and adjusts control panel settings such as kilovoltage, milliamperage, exposure time, and focal spot size.
• Shall position patient to image desired anatomic structures. Select image recording media, adjusts table or cassette holder, aligns x-ray tube for correct distance and angle, and restricts radiation beam for maximum patient protection. Exposes and processes images
• Position patient to image desired anatomic structures. Applies principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics. Shall select imaging protocols and required accessories, and make adjustments based on the specific examination requirements. Record and process the image.
• Manipulate the recorded image using computer applications. Enhances and stores digital images via picture archiving and communication system, print films, and creates image CDs.
• Shall assist physicians with fluoroscopic, interventional, and special examinations also instructing patients to prepare for procedures. Shall set up sterile tray, prepare patients, draw up medications or contrast for injections for pain management treatment using aseptictechnique.
• Prepare and assist with contrast media administration.
• Maintains emergency response cart.
• Shall assist physicians in treating reactions to contrast material and prepares sterile supplies and equipment.
• Shall ensure health protective measures such as universal precautions and radiation protection measures are established and employed.
• Screen, schedule and check-in patients and escorts patients to treatment areas as well as take, monitor and record physiological measurements. Screen patients at the reception desk for eligibility and verifies appointments with the appropriate health care provider along with book, schedule and notify patients for follow-up as required.
• Provide patient/parent education as requested. Upon completion of procedures and
• examinations, properly cleans and organizes examination room and performs any necessary cleaning of equipment as established by departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Shall ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
• Accomplishes routine cleaning and restocking of exam rooms and patient areas.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
• Shall attend in-service training in new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
• Maintain required licensure, registration, certification, competency documentation, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
• Comply with applicable Military Treatment Facility policies, Radiology Department standards, DHA requirements, HIPAA requirements, local procedures, safety requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Notify the appropriate Government supervisor and company leadership of any inability to perform scheduled duties as required.

Work Schedule: The RT (Pain Management) shall perform services in accordance with the schedule established by the Government supervisor and applicable contract requirements. The work schedule is Monday thru Friday 0700 - 1600. Surgery days are 0600 - 1500. Shifts are based on mission needs, and Radiology Department operations. Scheduled work shall not exceed 40 scheduled hours per week unless otherwise authorized in accordance with contract requirements. Alternate shift requirements may apply if directed and authorized under the contract and local Radiology Department requirements.
