Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and produce high quality images with emphasis on patient safety. You will operate radiographic equipment, assist in procedures, and prepare patients for imaging in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications include ARRT Radiography certification and Hawaii licensure or ability to obtain. Prior hospital or acute care experience and EMR proficiency are preferred as you support imaging services across shifts.

  • Prepares patients and information for imaging to ensure accurate studies.
  • Completes documentation in accordance with standards.

Description

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and adherence to professional and regulatory standards. Provides imaging services to patients of all age groups and supports patient care through accurate and efficient imaging practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established imaging protocols.
  • Produces high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and appropriate positioning.
  • Operates radiographic and portable imaging equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assists with procedures in surgical and procedural areas using appropriate sterile techniques.
  • Reviews patient information and prepares patients for imaging procedures to ensure accurate and effective studies.
  • Completes required documentation and maintains accurate records in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in on-call, standby, or unscheduled shifts as required and complies with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Imaging Services.
JOB QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Required:

  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
  • Current State of Hawai‘i license as a Radiologic Technologist, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and patient care skills.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Experience in radiology.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICALS REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands for equipment operation.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist with patient positioning.
  • Occasional pushing and pulling of equipment or stretchers.
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to respond to urgent situations.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases, biohazards, and varying noise levels.
