Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Radiology Technologist to perform a range of imaging procedures including radiography, CT, mammography, bone density, and ultrasound following department protocols. You will interact with patients to ensure comfort and accuracy in imaging, while supporting team goals.

The role requires ARRT accreditation, state fluoroscopy permit, BCLS certification and familiarity with regulations; at least one year of acute radiography

Qualifications

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
• Two national certifications in two modalities.
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• Familiarity with State and Federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs Diagnostic Radiographic, CT, Mammography, Bone Density, Ultrasound or Special Procedures per department protocols.
• Acts as first point of contact with customers to address imaging needs.
• Participates in PI/QC activities and assists in Performance Improvement program.
• Oversees radiology area and/or staff in Manager/Director’s absence; maintains supplies and equipment.
• Schedules for assigned sub‑departments and ensures smooth workflow and image transmission to PACS.

Responsibilities

Performs Diagnostic Radiographic, Cat Scan, Mammography, Bone Density, Ultra Sound or Special Procedures according to department protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in PI/ QC activities. Assists in Maintaining Performance Improvement Program. Oversees radiology area and/or staff in Manager's / Director's absence. Maintains department supplies. Promotes teamwork and good customer service. Does scheduling for assigned sub departments and maintains supplies and equipment for assigned sub department. Responsible for Processing and transmission of Images to PACS.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
• Effective July 1, 2017 appropriate national certifications in two modalities required
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.
• One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred
• Graduate of a program accredited by ARRT
• Proficient computer skills.

Pay Transparency

Saint Michaels Medical Center offers competitive compensation and the current compensation for this role is a base rate of $48.57 plus any evening/night differential worked. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
