Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Radiographer (RAD Tech) to join the Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery in Plano. This PRN, on-site role supports imaging procedures on a weekday schedule from 7:00am to 5:30pm, with responsibilities including explaining procedures, processing and evaluating images, and ensuring accurate PACS transfers.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited radiologic technology credential, ARRT/TMB required, BCLS and CPI training, and up to one year of Rad Tech

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program required upon hire.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • 1 year Radiology Tech experience preferred.
  • ARRT and TDH/TMB credentials required upon hire.
  • BCLS required prior to independent patient care; CPI training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to examination.
  • Check physician orders and exam requisitions with time-out procedures.
  • Process and manipulate images; analyze quality and adjust techniques as needed.
  • Send and transfer images to PACS correctly.
  • Monitor patients with IVs or tubes during imaging.
  • Maintain patient information and professional phone etiquette.

Work hours: PRN (As needed) – Weekdays – Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm

Here’s What You Need
  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology required upon hire
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • 1 year of Rad Tech experience preferred
  • C-ARM and surgery experience highly preferred
  • GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB Upon Hire Required And
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 Days Required
What You Will Do
  • Explains procedures to patient or guardian/family member prior to exanm
  • Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
  • Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
  • Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS
  • Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging
  • Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed
