Job summary

ACHE is seeking a qualified radiologic technologist to perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiologic procedures under general supervision. The role requires an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT registration, MD licensure, and BCLS.

No experience is required, and the incumbent will document patient care in EHRs, maintain a safe work environment, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in radiologic technology from a USDE- or CHEA-accredited program.
• ARRT registration required; MD state radiographer license.
• Basic Life Support certification (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiologic procedures.
• Select accurate technical factors for each patient and ensure age-appropriate care.
• Document patient care activity in electronic health records (EHR).
• Maintain a safe work environment and manage supplies; notify when external vendors are needed.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives and staff training.

Overview

Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized diagnostic radiologic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Key Responsibility 1: Executes basic clinical competence in general radiology including fluoroscopy, in all locations across all patient types.Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
• Key Responsibility 2: Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
• Key Responsibility 3: Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Key Responsibility 4: Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
• Key Responsibility 5: Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree, or Certificate, in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
