Role Overview

A Radiographer is responsible for performing radiographic exams, providing patient education, practicing radiation safety, and assisting with basic patient care such as triaging and vital sign measurements. They may also perform simple lab procedures like EKGs and specimen collection.

Responsibilities Include

• Taking x-rays following protocols and proper positioning
• Explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort
• Implementing radiation protection measures
• Assisting with basic patient care and lab procedures

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent and completion of an approved RT program
• Current ARRT certification, Maryland Radiographer License, and CPR certification
• Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
• Proficiency with x-ray equipment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work long shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
