Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Radiographer Assistant in Dubuque for an evening, part-time role. Under limited supervision, you will support the imaging team with clerical, technical, and patient-related tasks, enabling efficient patient flow and care. Eligible students in Radiologic Technology programs gain hands-on experience while meeting BLS and mandatory training requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of routine clerical, technical and patient-related tasks under supervision.
• Assist radiographers with exams and procedures.
• Check-in patients and review exam orders or prep instructions.
• Provide patient education and support during visits.
• Assist with exam setup, positioning, and equipment preparation.
• Transport patients as needed within the imaging department.

As a Radiographer Assistant at MercyOne, you will, under limited supervision, of a licensed radiographer the radiographer assistant performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The radiographer assistant is responsible for assisting members of the imaging team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. The radiographer assistant is trained to use a wide variety of radiographic equipment, computers, and software.

Schedule

• 16 hours a week
• Weekdays: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
• Every 3rd weekend: 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm

General Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current participation in radiology classes and clinical rotations.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
