Responsible for providing health care services by applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs computed tomography and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomical images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Ensures accuracy and quality of diagnostic images. Maintains compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards. Supports patient care by delivering timely and precise computed tomography imaging services.
Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent.
2-5 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
This position requires regular standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; intermittent lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; intermittent standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; intermittent sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions. Also involves intermittent risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; intermittent risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; intermittent exposure to cuts or punctures; regular exposure to radiation; and occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, bloodborne or airborne pathogens, burns, temperature extremes, loud noises, working in confined spaces, and combative or violent people. Occasional job-related travel may also be required.
