Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Radio Technician to install, maintain, and repair communications equipment on construction sites.

The role requires hands-on work with radios, GPS, cameras, and ELD devices, as well as diagnostic testing and thorough documentation. Qualified candidates will have 1–3 years in radio tech or automotive wiring, basic 12V/24V knowledge, and the ability to travel >50% and work outdoors.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; education beyond high school preferred.
• 1–3 years in radio technology installation and service or 1–3 years in automotive wiring.
• Basic understanding of 12V & 24V systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Able to travel >50% of the time and work outdoors.
• Familiarity with electrical codes, safety practices, and blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain communication systems on job sites.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain Digital Radios, GPS, Cameras, and ELD devices.
• Perform diagnostics tests on communication equipment and systems.

About this Role – Radio Technician

We are looking for a talented Radio Technician who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for performing the installation, maintenance and repair of communications equipment and systems, and any additional associated infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Install, configure, test, and maintain communication systems on job sites
• Install, configure, test, and maintain Digital Radios, GPS, Cameras, and ELD devices
• Perform diagnostics tests on communication equipment and systems
• Document and report accurate services records
• Communicate with project managers to ensure that projects remain on schedule and services are completed in a timely fashion
• Provide support to all end users in the field to ensure communication lines are active throughout project progress

What You’ll Bring

• High school graduate (Education beyond high school preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience in radio technology installation and service and/or 1-3 years of automotive wiring experience
• Basic understanding of 12- & 24-volt systems
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs
• Ability to travel greater than 50% of the time
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
• Ability to communicate with employees and vendors and exchange accurate information in these situations
• Familiarity with electrical codes, construction safety practices, and blueprints
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
