Job summary

Fisica, Inc. is seeking an RF Microwave Test Technician in San Leandro, CA. This onsite role focuses on testing and troubleshooting microwave components and products to meet specifications.

A strong background in microwave bench testing and data analysis is required. Candidates should have an AA degree or equivalent training with several years of related experience. A Government security clearance is preferred, and the 9/80 schedule offers every other Friday off.

  • Experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing microwave products and components.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and verify standard microwave bench test equipment incl. sweep generators and network analyzers.
  • Test microwaves, take measurements, and tune products to specs.
  • Troubleshoot components and assemblies to determine causes of malfunctions.
  • Assist in development and documentation of test procedures.
  • Perform data review and trend analysis on antenna data.

Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.

Position Summary

Responsible for testing and troubleshooting microwave components, sub‑assemblies and final products to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Performs set‑up and checks accuracy of standard microwave bench test equipment, such as sweep generators, network analyzers, and frequency counters.
  • Performs microwave test, takes measurements and tunes products to meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoots components, sub‑assemblies, final products and/or systems and test equipment to determine cause and remedy of malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment is used to test antennas.
  • Evaluates tests and recommends commercial test equipment for use in the production test department.
  • Interfaces, as directed; with other departments to resolve problems regarding testing or assembly.
  • May provide work directions to lower‑level technicians.
  • Performs data review and trend analysis on antenna data.
  • Test, evaluates and recommends special purpose test fixtures as required.
  • Performing maintenance, repair and/or fabrication of production test equipment (production and prototype).
  • Assists in the verification, development and documentation of test procedures and special applications as required by interpreting product specifications.
  • Performs limited, intermittent physical exertion. Works under acceptable conditions with some distraction due to occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat or chemicals.
  • Accurately reduce all data to real numbers for final atp's.
Education/Experience/Training
  • Requires an AA degree in electronics or 2 years of specialized trade or military training and/or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Requires the use of complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics, a wide variety of precision measuring instruments, and experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing microwave products, equipment and components.
Qualifications
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion.
  • Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.
  • Must have sufficient vision to see relative positions of small parts and able to discern symmetry and proper alignment.
  • Will be exposed to some or all of the following: fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Able to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, and squat.
  • Able to occasionally push, and reach.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds close to the body repetitively. (Employees need to ask for assistance and use material handling tools for less weight in awkward location and/or body positions and for any items over 50 pounds).
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a future Security Clearance is required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role $55,500 - $102,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
