Job summary

Fisica, Inc. is a leading defense contractor in San Leandro, CA, seeking a Microwave Test Technician to test and troubleshoot microwave components and assemblies onsite.

The role requires interpretation of drawings, usage of precision instruments, and adherence to customer specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards. You will work with Randtron and related units, performing routine testing, data collection, and problem solving to improve production test processes.

Qualifications

  • Requires AA degree in electronics or 2 years of specialized trade or military training with 6+ years related experience.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing microwave products and components.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and use precision measuring instruments.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and verify standard microwave bench test equipment and instruments.
  • Test microwave components, sub-assemblies and final products to meet specs.
  • Troubleshoot components and systems; diagnose malfunctions and remedies.
  • Evaluate tests and recommend production test equipment; interface with other departments.
  • May provide work directions to lower-level technicians; review data for accuracy.

Position Summary

Responsible for testing and troubleshooting microwave components, sub‑assemblies and final products to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Performs set‑up and checks accuracy of standard microwave bench test equipment, such as sweep generators, network analyzers, and frequency counters.
  • Performs microwave test, takes measurements and tunes products to meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoots components, sub‑assemblies, final products and/or systems and test equipment to determine cause and remedy of malfunctions.
  • Troubleshot electrical and mechanical equipment used to test antennas.
  • Evaluates tests and recommends commercial test equipment for use in the production test department.
  • Interfaces, as directed, with other departments to resolve problems regarding testing or assembly.
  • May provide work directions to lower‑level technicians.
  • Performs data review and trend analysis on antenna data.
  • Test, evaluates and recommends special purpose test fixtures as required.
  • Performance maintenance, repair and/or fabrication of production test equipment (production and prototype).
  • Assists in the verification, development and documentation of test procedures and special applications as required by interpreting product specifications.
  • Performs limited, intermittent physical exertion. Works under acceptable conditions with some distraction due to occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat or chemicals.
  • Accurately reduces all data to real numbers for final atp's.
Education, Experience & Training
  • Requires an AA degree in electronics or 2 years of specialized trade or military training and/or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Requires the use of complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics, a wide variety of precision measuring instruments, and experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing microwave products, equipment and components.
Qualifications
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion.
  • Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.
  • Must have sufficient vision to see relative positions of small parts and be able to discern symmetry and proper alignment.
  • Will be exposed to some or all of the following: fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Able to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, and squat.
  • Able to occasionally push, and reach.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds close to the body repetitively. Employees should request assistance and use material handling tools for less weight in awkward locations and/or body positions and for any items over 50 pounds.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a future Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role $55,500 - $102,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
