Overview

The RF Engineer IV is responsible for designing and developing advanced RF components that integrate multiple functionalities into a single chip “chip & wire”, with a focus on optimizing performance and power efficiency. This role leads the design of complex RF systems for Power RF applications in the 8-40GHz range, working knowledge in the kW power levels for radar, small form factor drones, or UAVs applications a plus. Additionally, the engineer will be involved in electrical analysis, process development, and continuous improvement efforts related to frequency extension and power density solutions.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the design and development of advanced RF components, focusing on integrating multiple functionalities into a single "chip & wire" solution, while optimizing performance, power efficiency, and thermal management.
  • Conduct in-depth feasibility studies and perform detailed reviews of customer specifications to ensure the design meets performance requirements for Power RF systems in the 2-18GHz & 20-40GHz range.
  • Design and develop high-performance RF systems for radar, UAVs, or small-form-factor drone applications, with experience in handling kW power levels and frequency extension.
  • Lead development and perform electrical analysis and simulation to optimize system performance and ensure reliability in complex RF designs.
  • Create and maintain detailed design schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Develop comprehensive plans and procedures for product qualification, design verification, and acceptance testing to ensure product integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Contribute to the development of technical and strategic roadmaps for ongoing and future projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of technical proposals, offering innovative solutions and providing in-depth explanations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's degree)
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
    • (12) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
    • (6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Master's Degree.
    • (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhD.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, including electromagnetic theory, transmission lines, antenna design, and signal processing, 3D field solving models
  • Knowledge of components, schematic capture, and layout of electrical designs of RF and Analog circuitry
  • Strong experience in high power transceiver design with TX output power range from 10W to 400W in frequencies range from 20MHz to 40GHz
  • Familiarity with system-level simulation tools to evaluate RF performance
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain a U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
  • Pay Range: $121,424 - $154,681 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
