Juniper in Melville, NY seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design RF/microwave and digital circuits for aerospace and defense systems, guiding the full design lifecycle from concept to test and integration with hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of related experience.
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and analyzing RF/microwave and/or digital electronic systems.
• Hands-on experience with RF circuit design, simulation, testing, and optimization.
• Experience modeling, simulating, evaluating, tuning, and troubleshooting electronic circuits.
• Familiarity with FPGA development using Verilog or VHDL and Xilinx tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate project requirements and technical specifications to develop effective engineering solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and support to engineering staff, designers, and technicians throughout the design and development process.
• Oversee breadboarding, wiring, debugging, integration, and testing activities.
• Develop test plans, coordinate test setups, and analyze performance results to validate system functionality.
• Troubleshoot and optimize hardware designs based on test data and performance requirements.
• Prepare engineering documentation, including spare parts lists, test equipment requirements, and technical reports.
• Specify and support procurement of specialized electronic components and test equipment.
• Contribute technical expertise during proposal development and customer bids.
• Utilize PC-based CAE tools to support circuit design, simulation, and analysis.

• Knowledge of amplifier design using both packaged components and bare die technologies.
• Proficiency programming embedded systems in C and C++.
• Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with Microchip PIC microprocessors and embedded system development.
• Familiarity using Verilog or VHDL for FPGA development.
• Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA architecture and development tools.
