A specialized engineering organization supporting advanced defense and intelligence applications is seeking a Specialist, RF Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on the design and development of high-performance RF and microwave systems used in radar, communications, electronic sensing, and signal-processing environments. The Specialist, RF Engineer will be responsible for:
- RF/Microwave Design - Design and develop RF and microwave circuitry for receivers, frequency converters, signal chains, and related hardware systems operating up to 18GHz+.
- System Architecture & Requirements - Support requirements analysis, system architecture development, and allocation of functional requirements across subsystems.
- Receiver & Signal Chain Development - Design, integrate, and optimize RF signal chains, including frequency planning, filtering, mixing, amplification, and frequency generation.
- RF Analysis & Performance Optimization - Perform RF simulation, frequency planning, spur analysis, cascade analysis, and design trade-off evaluations to ensure system performance.
- Technical Contribution & Leadership - Serve as a key contributor on RF hardware development programs, supporting design reviews, customer presentations, troubleshooting efforts, and cross-functional engineering activities.
- Product Development Support - Provide engineering support throughout integration, validation, manufacturing transition, and production support activities.
The Specialist, RF Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in RF engineering, microwave engineering, RF circuit design, or RF hardware development.
- Hands-on experience designing PCB-based RF hardware, microwave circuitry, receivers, frequency converters, or communications systems.
- Experience working with RF signal chains, RF front-end architectures, amplifiers, mixers, filters, PLLs, and related RF components.
- Strong understanding of receiver design, frequency conversion, RF simulation, and GHz-frequency design.
- Experience with RF design and simulation tools such as Keysight Genesys, ADS, HFSS, MATLAB, OrCAD, SPICE, or similar.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to security clearance eligibility requirements.
