Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a RADIO DISPATCHER for the seasonal period to support District 5 highway operations in Bedford. You will operate all communications equipment, relay information, and dispatch office or field forces to resolve highway issues and emergencies.

Minimum qualifications are eight grade education with no required licenses; preferred candidates may have one year of communications experience and related skills such as typing, dispatching, and radio operations, while

Responsibilities

• Receives calls via telephone, two-way radio, and computer, and directs the information to the proper state or outside agency to resolve highway problems or provide emergency assistance.
• Maintains a log of office communications to ensure an accurate record of the District's operations is available for future use.
• Acts as a receptionist for the District Office to provide routine information to the general public.
• Operates a word processor and varied office equipment to prepare various permits or written communications.
• Compiles road and weather information to provide the Communications Center with a periodic highway status throughout the District.
• Performs work in full conformance with all risk management, safety, and environmental standards, regulations, and administrative orders.

SUMMARY
